Hey folks, the final move is going on now.

COMMENTS over there are INSTANT now – last test took 12 seconds! Disregard the stuff about 15 mins and moderation – they aren’t true and those words will be gone soon.

I promise you commenting there will be quicker. There is no moderation queue really – it just says that. And it doesn’t take 15 mins to see it but it does take a few. We are working on this asap. Just hang with us, ok?

To answer some questions:

Yes, the new site will move faster – it may take until Monday to get the comments moving quicker but it will get better. I know how important trading it and that is our goal to get things all set for that!

Yes the atomicolicious.com site will merge into the other one.

Yes there are ads on the new site. There are ads on a lot of bigger webkinz sites and blogs. This frees us up to do more giveaways and put more resources into the site. This is not an attempt to get rich, trust me on that darlings.

No, you don’t have to fill out everything each time when you comment, just click the option remember me and it will remember the basic details. You will need to enter the five digit security code – it keeps away spammers. That is much easier than forcing everyone to go through a registration process, really.

There are cool things like being able to rate the post, being able to post an automatic quick link to it on your own blog or to email it to friends – and we intend to bring in guest posters from the regular crowd who posts a lot.

The real reason we moved is to let me go back to adding stuff to the blog – adding content – so I didn’t have to worry about other technical issues here. We have outgrown wordpress and many other issues had started to come up. I know many of you kept asking where I was, well I was dealing with problems. And those problems are going to be solved by moving. But hey, of course there are other problems and that’s ok.

Think of this as changing classes each year. A new classroom is always a bit scary, a bit uncomfortable. Your old classroom and teacher are what you know – the new one is always harder because you have to learn new ways. But eventually the new classroom gets better and more comfy, soon things are happy again. We will get there my dears!

If you want to ask me a question in email, that’s fine. But comments like ‘I don’t like it, comments are slow’ aren’t really that helpful because we know that and we are working on it.

Just hang with us – right here is fine until things get set over there.

Ch-Ch-Changes

Things are actually changing right now so bear with us over the next 48 hours (2 days) as we move to the new site! Once things are moved, the new site will come up when you come to visit!

If you have more questions, you can read the post before this one you’ll see what I mean by moving. The look of the page will change. The addresses (kinzblog.com and atomicolicious.com) will both still work BUT they may be a bit on and off for about 2 days while we get everything run through the DNS servers that route traffic on the internet.

I’ve asked you all to be patient but there is no need for a few of you to be rude. I’m sorry some of you don’t like it but if you hang around, it will be easy to use. Things here were confusing too when you first came. You will see the improvement over time.

New things…

First, early this week the site will be moving to the new server. Kinzblog.com is the safest and simplest way to get there once the move comes.

Yes things will be different. Some of you will like it, some of you won’t but I ask you all to give it a chance to grow on you. I should be around more often because I’ve been spending time behind the scenes. Relax and go with it, good things are coming!

We are culling down the blogroll to only blogs that have posted in the past month. Also there is a new feature that will let you post a note to your WP blog about a post on this site basically with one click!

• We’ve been out most of the day but came back to grab the last gem we needed for our 2nd crown of wonder – thanks Corona Topaz!
• Ancient Civilization theme now randomly available in the Curio Shops. Awesome!
• The new Wacky Zingoz plush is now available in stores – the first non-pet Webkinz. It comes with a code to a special game as well.
• We can find charms constantly now – but NOT one that we need. We need one in six categories and have gotten duplicates at least 10 times this week.
• Yes, Daily and Today’s activities are still screwed up for us too!

From Webkinz: KinzCash Issue, Dock Not Updating

There is currently an issue in Webkinz World with the Arcade Games and the KinzCash that appears in your dock.

At the end of playing any Arcade game or Tournament Arena game, the amount of KinzCash won is being awarded to your account, but it is not appearing in your dock. Let us be clear: the KinzCash IS being awarded. This is a display issue only. If you log out and then log back in again, the KinzCash won WILL appear in your dock.

We have made a fix for this problem and will be implementing it first thing Monday morning (February 25). We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Two big new things for the Curio Shop

• You can get only one rare item per shop at the Curio Shop
• There will be no more list of what is able when in the Curio Shop. Arte will tell you when still but not what it is.

I do not like this. I think you should be able to get whatever you want. I don’t like that you won’t know what the rare actually is because you might miss and not know. You will have to check in more too which is hard for kids in school and who have homework or activities.

Atomicolicious – playing the new game

I have been playing the new game at webkinz atomicolicious in the tournament area and I won a couple of times!!! I really liked the game a lot. Even if you lose you get to keep the money you made I do not know if you can get a trophy but I do not think so.

Finally, some new exclusives!

Webkinz have retired some of the exclusive gifts for new pet adoptions, which is great news because I know lots of us are tired of getting the same gifts when we adopt pets.

Retired are the Giant Venus Flytrap, Jelly Lollipop Tree and Undersea Porthole. Joining the Webkinz gang are the Feather Chair, Music Box, Ambulance, Sandwich Table and Street Lamp. Those additions along with the new superbeds are definitely exciting stuff!
